Friday June 3rd 

Spring League Presentation Night
Presentation of prizes for the Spring League will take place on Friday June 3rd and all tournament participants and club members are welcome

John McLaughlin Honorary Life Membership
The recent AGM unanimously agreed to offer John McLaughlin an Honorary Life Membership. On Friday June 3rd the club will officially confer this accolade. John has given many years of distinguished service to both the tennis and badminton sections of the club.

All members and friends are encouraged to come along on Friday and musicians should bring along their instruments.

 Munster Junior Championships
Well down to our junior tennis members who reached 3  shield semi finals in the Munster Junior Club Championships.

Annual Subscriptions

 A further reminder that memberships elapse on 31st May and membership is then due. The club will shortly change booking access and locks .

Advertisement for new members
The club recently placed  an advertisement in The Clare Champion seeking new members. Can existing members ensure that if they encounter  any visitors to the club seeking membership information  that they are offered an application form or directed to the website.

American Tournament
American tournaments continue each Tuesday at 7pm and all are welcome including non-members. Adults only

  • Ladies Doubles sign up sheet on notice  board and is closing shortly. This is a great opportunity to continue to play competitive tennis after the Spring League.

  • Gents Singles Ladder has commenced and entrants are  reminded to arrange and play off matches as soon as possible.

Juniors compete in Munster Championships

Report on Junior Munster Club Championships

Lost to Limerick Lawn on Sat 7th, in Limerick. Through to the Shield Semi-Final - will play either St. Annes Waterford or Nenagh on the weekend of the 28th/29th of May. Team is Karen McNamara, Emily Lester, Olivia Touhy, Brian Meaney, Ronan Lanigan, Cullen McCabe

Lost to Tramore on Sun 1st, in Waterford. Due to play Kilworth in the Shield this Sunday in Cork. Team is Aine Ryan, Sheena Tarrant, Eimer Carrol, Conor Ryan, Mark Duffy, Sean Collins.

Lost to Killaloe/Ballina on Sat 14th, in Ennis. Due to play Larkspur Cashel in the Shield this Saturday in Ennis. Team is Alison Brogan, Alena Ovchinnikova, Jummy Akintola, Michael McMahon, Ciaran O'Brien and Liam Mullins

News week ending 14th May

Tennis Ladders on the go in the club
  • The Gents Singles ladder is now up and running. Details including telephone numbers are on the notice board

  • A Ladies doubles ladder is about to commence and there is a sign up sheet on the notice board.

  • The first  American Tournament commences on Tuesday May 17th at 7pm. It is open to non -members. Members are encouraged to assist by playing or helping Kiearan Tuohy and Kevin Starling with the organisation. There will be a tournament each Tuesday evening.

  • Spring League matches should be arranged and finalised asap.

The Club played Kilaloe in the Under 16 Munster Club Championships on Saturday 14th.

Clare Champion thsi week

There was some detailed coverage of the county Junior championships in the Clare Champion this week and the availability of membership was highlighted.

The club has for sale in the bar Tretorn Micro X balls 4/pack balls @ Tecnifibre wrap overgrips. Members are invited to support the club by purchaing their needs in the clubhouse.
