R贸is铆n strikes again!
Congratulations to R贸is铆n Moore who has had a busy couple of weeks getting her 2016/17 season underway.
R贸is铆n has had a great start and won the Girls U14a Ballinlough Tennis Club Junior Open and was the Finalist in the Munster Provincial Winter Match Plays where she was narrowly defeated in a very close fought final. Best of luck to R贸is铆n in the Nationals in December!

Clare/South of France Challenge:
Four Club members recently competed in the inaugural Clare/Nice Doubles Challenge which took place over 4 days outside Nice in a winner talks all format.

Ladies A Doubles Final
Gallery Duo do it again, again and again.....!
Well done to Helen and Ann who added another Ladies Double title to their collection last night in the Clubhouse in front of a large attendance.
In a closely fought first set Sarah and Angela led at 5-4 but the more experienced pair came from behind to close the set out 7-5 and went on to win the second set.

Summer Cup
On Sunday in Limerick Lawn the Club won their 4th Munster Title in 12 months. Ennis had 3 teams in this year’ finals of the Summer Cup.
Our Grade 6 Men took the title in a Super Set against Catholic Institute who had beaten Ennis at the same stage last year. Well done to Munster champions James, Dave, Liam and Robert.
Our Grade 3 Mixed team Sarah, Helen, Yahya and Ciaran were desperately unlucky losing out in a Super Set by the narrowest of margins against Limerick Lawn.
Our Grade 6 Mixed Team were beaten by a very strong Puckane Team. Hard Luck to Aine, Nicola, Kevin and Frank.
A big thank you to all who came and supported our players. Roll on the Winter League!

Munster Campaign Weekend
Another Good Weekend for the Club with the Grade 6 Mixed Team putting on a great performance at home winning 4-0 on Sunday and looking forward to the next round already.
In Killaloe Noel Gavin and Bill Twomey won the Grade 5/6 Mens Doubles against the local favourites.
Well done to all involved and Roll on the Championships.

Championships deadline extended
Due to the number of late and manual entries, the deadline for entries has been extended to 2000 hrs on Saturday and the draw will be on line on Sunday evening. The Championships will now start on Tuesday the 23rd at 1830 sharp due to Fleadh and availability of a Marquee. Any members requiring a manual entry please notify Bill by text before mid-day on Sunday!

The deadline for entries is the 19th of August 18.00. The following rules apply:
A Players Munster Grade 3-4 or higher
B Players Munster Grade 5-6
All players may enter A events irrespective of Munster Grading
Juniors must be over 16 and Play in the A Competitions
Players who have won a B Doubles Title since 2014 must play A Grade irrespective of Munster Grade in
that event
Players who have won a B Singles title since 2014 must play Grade A in all events
If a player is only available for the 2nd week, he/she will be limited to 2 events
All players are requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to schedule time

Munster Campaign
The Ennis Ladies Grade 4 team pulled off a great victory late Thursday night defeating Whitechurch 4-0.
Some great Tennis played including winning a tiebreak from 2-6 down; what resilience! Well done to Teresa. Liz, Margaret and Mimi.
Next Munster match is this Sunday when our Grade 3 team take in Causeway at 12.00 in Ennis.

Connacht Open
The Connacht Open took place over the weekend and 13 members from the Club entered various events at all Grades with an unprecedented 8 players making a Final on Bank Holiday Monday.
Ann–Marie Darcy and Yayha Elfaith were Runners-Up in WS1 and MS2 respectively at the start of Finals Day.
Noel Gavin and Stephen Molloy won the MD3 beating fellow club members James Jones and Liam Mockler.
Next up Kerry and Yayha easily won the XD2 in quick fire style.
In the XD3 Final Aine Jones and Liam Mockler were runners- up against a very experienced pairing.
Well done to all our Ennis Players and Supporters who travelled to Galway for the weekend.

Spring League extension
Due to a combination of holidays,injuries and weddings!! The deadline for the Spring League has been extended to the 24th of May at 1900. Well done to all of those who have got their games played to date. Irrespective of games not completed the top two pairings in each group(no points deducted for walk overs etc) will then play off on Friday the 10th of June at 1900 in the Club followed by Prize Giving and Barbecue till late.It also planned to honour our successful Munster Winter League teams on that night. Be sure and save the date!

Champions!!
Well done to both our teams who triumphed in Cork on Sunday. Grade 5 Ladies defeated Carrigaline 3-1 to secure the club's first title at this Grade. Well done to Siobhain ,Sarah, Kerry and Angela. Our Grade 4 Men comfortably defeated Ardfield/Rathbarry 4-0 to take the title and build on their success in the Summer Cup. Congrats to Dave, Yaha, Ciarain and Aidan It was a great campaign for the club with a record 5 teams making the semi-final stage. Roll on the Summer Cup!!

Ennis under 11 Badminton Players at the County Championship
Ennis U11 badminton players had a great day at the County Championships in Clonlara on Saturday February 27th.
There was a real buzz as our youngest competitors in the County Championship took centre stage, some competing in the Championship for the first time.
Congratulations to Caoimhe Ryan, Cillian Ryan, Emma Neylon, Cillian Foley, Harry Hamel, Roisin Collins, and Ruth Browne, who all represented themselves and our club so well.
Emma Neylon took second place in the U11 Division 2 girls singles competition.
Ruth Browne came second in the Division 1 singles while Roisin Collins won the plate in the same competition.
Roisin together with her partner Sarah Barry from Ardnacrusha won the Division 1 girls doubles beating Ruth Browne and Caoimhe Ryan to second place. Ruth completed a hat trick of seconds taking the runner up spot in the Mixed Doubles event also.
Congratulations to Harry Hamel on winning an all Ennis final in the Boys Division 2 competition. Cillian Foley, our youngest competitor had a great performance in taking second place. The fortunes were reversed when Cillian Foley together with his partner took the doubles title beating Harry Hamel and Cillian Ryan into second place in a final where once again Ennis was represented on both sides of the net. Well done to Cillian Ryan who won the plate final also.
We, at Ennis Junior Badminton, are proud of all of our competitors and we urge ALL JUNIOR BADMINTON players to enter next year.

Munster Winter League
Well done to our Grade 5 Ladies who travelled to Tralee and won 3-1 to make the finals next Sunday. Commiserations to our other teams who put in great displays but just missed out on making the finals. Our Grade 4 Ladies lost by the narrowest of margins 4-6 in a Super Set on Saturday in the Club against Clonakilty. On Sunday our Grade 5 men lost to Tralee 3-1 after three 3 setters and 4 hours of tennis. Our Grade 6 Mixed also put in a strong performance but lost to the Group favourites Limerick Lawn in Limerick. It has been a great campaign for Ennis with all five teams making the semi-finals and two teams will represent us at Cork next Sunday.
Well done to all the players who put so much effort into this years league and best of luck to Grade 5 Ladies and Grade 4 Men who will represent the club next Sunday.

Semi-Finals Get!
Well done to all our Munster Teams who continued this year's successful run with all our 5 teams making the semi-finals of the competition. Grade 4 Ladies and Grade 5 men will play at home with Grade 4 Men and Grade 6 Mixed taking on Limerick Lawn in Limerick and Grade 5 Ladies travelling to Tralee.

Winning in the Rain!!
Our Grade 5 Ladies make the Semi-Final defeating St Michaels of Blackrock 4-0 in the rain at the Club today. Well done Siobhan ,Sarah, Kerry and Liz.

Fab Five do it!!

Well done to all our Munster Teams who have made it to the Quarter Finals of the 2016 Munster Winter League. This weekend, following victories for both our Grade 5 teams the previous week, our Grade 4 Teams both won 3-1 at home and our Grade 6 team performed heroically to draw with Lower Agahada to secure a place in the Quarter Finals.
This is the first time that Ennis have had 5 teams reach this stage of the competition.
Congrats to all involved.
